Bathinda, November 26
In a major development, BKU Ekta Ugrahan in its state committee meeting on Thursday late evening, has taken a decision that they will move to Delhi from Dabwali and Khanouri at 11.30 am on Friday.
BKU Ekta Ugrahan senior vice president Jhanda Singh Jethuke said, “In the state committee meeting, decision has been taken to move towards Delhi from both places at 11.30 pm tomorrow.”
The pressure was mounting on BKU Ekta Ugrahan to take a decision to move to Delhi as in the evening a difference of opinion surfaced in the BKU Ekta Ugrahan group as 40-50 youngsters reached near the barricading at Dabwali border and demanded that they should move towards Delhi breaking the barricading here.
The large number of farmers of BKU Ekta Ugrahan had reached Dabwali and Khanauri, where they had started protests at both places.
The group also had a heated argument with the union’s senior members seated on stage.
Gagandeep Singh of Machana village in Bathinda said, “We have come here on the call of ‘Delhi chalo’ and when farmers from all points are entering Haryana by breaking barricading, then why are we staging a protest here.”
He said since morning we have asked them to tell us the time when we will move ahead, but they are not telling us.
BKU Ekta Ugrahan leader Jhanda Singh Jethuke said these persons were not their members because if they were from the union, they would have listened to us.
He said they are staging a protest here because in the meeting of 400 farm unions, it was decided to move to Delhi on November 26 and 27 and it was decided that whenever they will be stopped they should stage a protest there only.
Replying to a query on other unions breaking the barricading and moving ahead, Jethuke said if other unions had taken this decision then would have told us, we would have also done this.
