Fazilka, December 30

A 28-year-old man’s body has been recovered from a canal near Islamwala village. The victim, identified as Satpal Singh, had gone missing recently.

Amrik Singh of Bahm village said Satpal, who worked at a brick kiln, had left for work on December 22 and did not return. Later, his belongings, including his Aadhaar card, blanket, bike and mobile phone, were recovered from the bank of a canal near Mahuana bridge. Amrik demanded a thorough enquiry into the case.

The body was found floating in the canal by some villagers on Wednesday evening. The police have lodged a case. — OC
