Bomb threat mails target Nangal court, banks in Ropar ahead of CM Mann's visit
Emails allegedly received from Khalistan Liberation Force; police carry out checks ahead of AAP rally at NFL stadium
A day ahead of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s scheduled visit to Ropar’s Nangal town, bomb threat emails have been received by various institutions in the area.
Sources told The Tribune that emails, allegedly from the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), have threatened to blow up the Nangal court complex and some banks in the city.
Following the threats, the police conducted checks at the Nangal court complex and a few banks in the area. Till the filing of this report, the police were still screening the court complex.
Ropar SSP Maninder Singh confirmed that threat emails to blow up the Nangal court complex and some other institutions had been received.
“We are trying to verify the source of the emails, and checking is being conducted at the institutions that have been threatened as per protocol,” he said.
CM Mann is scheduled to visit Nangal on Tuesday for an AAP rally at the NFL stadium.
