Faridkot, June 24
Two days after the murder of dera follower Mohinder Pal Bittu in Nabha jail, the focus has again shifted to the three sacrilege cases in which he was the alleged prime accused.
However, the files of these three criminal cases registered at Bajakhana police station are gathering dust in a room in Canal Colony of Faridkot for the past three years.
The three sacrilege incidents had led to massive protest by the Sikhs and killing of two at Behbal Kalan in the police firing on October 14, 2015 and November 1, 2015. After this, the state government had transferred the investigation of these cases to the CBI.
To probe these cases, the CBI had set up its camp office in Canal Colony of Faridkot that time. While the CBI probe in these three cases has made no headway in the last over three years and even the sleuths have not been spotted here in the last over two years, it is just a police constable who is on 24-hour duty at this office here.
