Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann urges Centre to evacuate Punjabis stranded in West Asia

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday called up Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and urged him to ensure the safe evacuation of Punjabis stranded in the strife-torn West Asia.

Taking to X, Mann said, “The Union minister has assured that necessary arrangements will be made for the safe return of Punjabis from Arab countries.” He said for assistance, people could contact the NRI wing control room at 0172-2260042, 0172-2260043, and WhatsApp number 91 94787 79112.

At least 12 persons from four Bathinda-based families are stranded in Dubai.

Among those stranded are Dr Neeru Garg, Principal of SSD Girls’ College, and her husband Prof Parveen Garg, who recently retired as Vice-Principal of DAV College. The others include three members of a family from Power House Road, three from Veer Colony and four from Bibi Wala Road.
