Cold weather conditions continue in Punjab, Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Cold weather conditions continued unabated in Punjab and Haryana on Friday, with night temperatures dropping to several degrees below normal in most parts.

Cold weather conditions continued unabated in Punjab and Haryana on Friday, with night temperatures dropping to several degrees below normal in most parts.

Bathinda was the coldest place in the region with a low of 0.2 degree Celsius, followed by Halwara 0.4 degree Celsius, an official of the Met department said.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala braved cold weather conditions at 2.5, 6 and 1.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

Pathankot, Adampur, Gurdaspur and Faridkot recorded their respective minimums at 4.1, 1, 4.5 and 2 degrees Celsius.

The Union Territory of Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, experienced cold weather conditions at 5.6 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal witnessed cold weather conditions at 7.2, 1.4 and 3.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

Bhiwani, Sirsa and Narnaul recorded their respective lows at 3.9, 2.2 and 3 degrees Celsius.

Dense fog enveloped several parts of Punjab and Haryana, including Ambala, Hisar, Karnal, Bhiwani, Panipat, Patiala, Amritsar and Bathinda. — PTI
