Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today blamed the Congress government for delay in development of food processing industry in the state.

Addressing a press conference here to publicise 100 days of the Modi government, Badal said she had brought four food processing units to the state, but these were far from completion due to the delaying tactics of the Congress government. Citing an example, she said the processing unit at Laddowal near Ludhiana could not be started for want of power supply connection.

She also criticised the Capt Amarinder Singh government for causing confusion among Sikhs on celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. She said such events were always held under the aegis of Akal Takht and the SGPC, but the state government was hijacking the organisation of the various celebratory events.
