Major industry players Cremica and JL Oswal Group have announced investment commitments worth about Rs 2,000 crore in Punjab, the state government said on Tuesday.
Industries, Commerce and Investment Promotion Minister Sanjeev Arora said Mrs Bectors Food Specialities Limited (Cremica) would invest Rs 400 crore to set up a new food processing unit at its existing facility in Rajpura. The project is expected to generate direct employment for around 1,000 persons.
The announcement was made in the presence of Anoop Bector, managing director of Mrs Bectors Food Specialities Limited, and Amit Dhaka, CEO of Invest Punjab.
Mrs Bectors Food Specialities manufactures biscuits, bread, bakery products and frozen food items at nine plants across India. The company reported sales of about Rs 2,100 crore in 2026.
The company, which exports biscuits to more than 70 countries, has invested nearly Rs 1,500 crore in facilities nationwide and has a domestic presence across more than 5.5 lakh outlets through a network of over 900 distributors. It is the second-largest biscuit player in Punjab with over 14 per cent market share.
The JL Oswal Group has announced plans to invest about Rs 1,550 crore in Punjab over the next three years.
Minister Arora said the announcements reflect growing industry confidence in Punjab’s business environment and investor-friendly policies.
