Faridkot, July 12
As part of its crackdown on drug peddlers police searched a large number of houses in Ambedkar Nagar here early on Friday morning.
Around 200 policemen were deployed for the operation which was termed as a “war against drugs”.
“The police have decided to tighten the noose around small-time drug suppliers to break the supply chain,” said SSP Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu.
Small-time peddlers form an important link in the drug business and are often the ones in direct contact with customers, Sandhu added.
The SSP declined to share details of the search operation and recovery.
However, according to sources, the police have managed to round up a few individuals.
