The incident occurred during the hearing of State versus Sham Sunder and others, a 2023 case relating to the suicide of a couple. According to the court order on Friday, the officer raised a dispute in the courtroom and left without permission. SI Joginder Kaur, currently posted at the Moga Police Lines, has previously faced controversy. In February 2025, while serving as SHO of Sadik police station in Faridkot district, she was booked in a corruption case for allegedly extorting Rs 2 lakh from a scrap dealer’s family in Ludhiana. She was arrested in that case and is presently out on bail.
