After an inordinate delay of over six months, the much-awaited Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) was finally inaugurated in the town by MP Sher Singh Ghubaya today.

While throwing it open for the public, the MP said the POPSK would benefit people belonging to various districts like Ferozepur, Fazilka, Moga, Muktsar, besides Sriganganagar in Rajasthan, who had to travel long distance for their passport-related works.

“I am extremely delighted to see this POPSK functioning now. Though I had demanded three such centres for this constituency, I was informed that only one kendra has to be established in each parliamentary segment by the Ministry of External Affairs,” he added.

As per information, two employees from the Department of Posts will work with official from the Passport Office, Amritsar, and 50 appointments will be entertained every day.
