Five farmers begin fast unto death in Lambi

Muktsar, February 10

A day after farmers blocked the Malout-Delhi national highway near Lambi village here demanding relief for the families of the Delhi stir victims, five protesters today started fast unto death.

Those started fast unto death included Nachattar Singh, 85. The protesters are demanding a written assurance from the state government that it would give compensation and jobs to the next of the kin of deceased.

Meanwhile, the farmers protest outside Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian’s residence for the same demands entered 19th day today. Due to the protest, commuters had to face several problems and take different routes to reach their destinations.
