FM Manpreet Badal holds closed-door meeting with Punjab Speaker Rana KP Singh

Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal visited the residence of Speaker Rana KP Singh here today.

While Rana refused to elaborate on the meeting, which he termed a “courtesy call”, sources said the two leaders had a closed-door meeting for over half an hour. The Speaker said Badal had merely halted “for a cup of tea” at his residence while on his way to Jalandhar.

A delegation of the Bar association from Anandpur Sahib, where Rana had inaugurated some lawyers’ chambers, later met Badal, demanding funds for incomplete works of the Bar room and chambers. A Bar association member said the Finance Minister promised a grant of Rs 50 lakh.
