Ropar, February 6

Senior SAD leader and five-time MLA from Chamkaur Sahib Bibi Satwant Kaur Sandhu passed away at Fortis Hospital in Mohali yesterday. A two-time minister, she was to complete 81 years of age on February 22.

Her son, former AIG (Personnel) Harmohan Singh Sandhu, who left his job to enter politics and joined the SAD in February 2019, said she was admitted to the hospital a fortnight ago after she was found suffering from Covid-19. She breathed her last at 10.40 pm yesterday, he added.

Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal mourned the demise of Bibi Satwant Kaur Sandhu.
