Heroin peddler with links to Pak-based suppliers arrested

The police here have arrested a drug smuggler after recovering 6.38 kg heroin from his possession.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said following inputs, the accused, Sonu Singh (29), a resident of Kilche village, was apprehended near Akku Wala village. He allegedly received the heroin from the Pakistan-based smugglers.

The SSP added that Sonu was in touch with smugglers from across the border. He was facing three cases under the Arms and NDPS Acts, and was out on bail. A fresh case was registered at the Sadar police station.
