I-T raids on astrologer’s residence

SANGRUR: The Income Tax (I-T) Department conducted a raid at the house of an astrologer in Sunam and realised Rs 1.30 crore of undisclosed income. The raid continued for more than 24 hours and concluded on Thursday in the wee hours.

The Income Tax (I-T) Department conducted a raid at the house of an astrologer in Sunam and realised Rs 1.30 crore of undisclosed income. The raid continued for more than 24 hours and concluded on Thursday in the wee hours.

“We conducted a thorough search of astrologer Rohit Sharma’s working place in Sunam and a filling station opened in partnership with another family by the astrologer’s family. We have ensured a surrender of Rs 1.30 crore of undisclosed income,” said Gagan Kundra, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Sangrur.

The I-T team was led by Kundra. Other members of the team were Income Tax Officers (ITOs) Jarnail Singh, Bal Krishan, Saroj Bala and Sneh Lata and Income Tax inspectors Bhushan Kumar, Piyush Gautam, Kirpa Nath and Parveen Kumar.
