Barnala, May 15

In a scathing attack over Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Union minister Smriti Irani on Wednesday alleged that he was struggling to save his seat, while the BJP was fighting to save the country from divisive forces.

Irani was in Barnala to attend a rally in support of SAD-BJP candidate Parminder Singh Dhindsa.

“Rahul has fled Amethi and filed his nomination from Wayanad. Congress leaders are making big claims to form the government in the Centre, but their scared chief is unsure of his own win from Amethi,” Irani said.

She alleged that a Congress leader from Punjab went to Pakistan and hugged their Army chief, while our Prime Minister Narendra Modi had avenged their attack on our security personnel.

“The Congress defamed Punjab by labelling the state as a hub of drugs when the SAD-BJP government was in power. But two years after the formation of their government in Punjab, the Congress has nothing concrete to show it has done against drugs,” the BJP leader added.
