Three Akali leaders have been booked for violence during Jalalabad’s Municipal Council elections on Wednesday---a development that comes a day after some 50-60 people were booked in the same incident.

Ashok Aneja, former president of Jalalabad Municipal Council, Davinder Singh Babbal, former chairman of Jalalabad Market Committee; and Jagsir Singh alias Babbu Jaimalwala, former president of Jalalabad Truck Operators Union Jalalabad were booked for assault in a cross complaint filed by Congress worker Ranjit Singh. At least five more unidentified people were booked in the case.

Ranjit Singh, a Congress worker from Roranwali village, claimed that SAD leaders opened fire in the violence that took place in Tehsil Complex, Jalalabad. The violence occurred at the time of filing nominations for civic body elections.
