Patiala, August 7

Rebel AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Tuesday alleged that party convener Arvind Kejriwal had tried to sabotage his convention in Bathinda on August 2.

Talking to The Tribune, the former Leader of Opposition said: “Kejriwal had tried his best to ensure that party MLAs stayed away from the convention by summoning them to Delhi the same day. It was an undemocratic move.”

He claimed that despite Kejriwal’s efforts, more AAP MLAs would join him. He said: “There are eight MLAs with me. I am hopeful that more would join us in the interest of the people of the state. Seniors leaders from Delhi should visit Punjab again to check the ground reality.”

Khaira was here to meet a victim, who along with five others was allegedly tortured in illegal police custody here on Sunday.
