Mohali, August 2

A day after Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra and local MLA Anmol Gagan Mann visited the Civil Hospital, Kharar, and pointed out shortcomings in sanitation and infrastructure, SMO Dr Maninder Kaur submitted a notice to the Health Department officials, expressing her wish to resign from the job.

Officials said a three-month notice period has to be served by the employee before resigning.

The notice can be taken back by the employee and the government can reject it also. Dr Kaur was reportedly transferred from Kharar to Dhanaula in Barnala later. Dr Kaur did not comment on the issue. She is the sister-in-law of former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and wife of Dr Manohar Singh, who left the job to contest the last Assembly elections.
