Live bombs in Bhakra threat to all: Divers’ club to CM

FATEHGARH SAHIB: The Bhole Shankar Diver Club has urged the Chief Minister to take remedial measures to defuse the bombs lying in the Bhakra Canal near all bridges, particularly the Floating Restaurant, Sirhind, where a Pakistan-bound bus halts for refreshment.

Fatehgarh Sahib, January 10

The Bhole Shankar Diver Club has urged the Chief Minister to take remedial measures to defuse the bombs lying in the Bhakra Canal near all bridges, particularly the Floating Restaurant, Sirhind, where a Pakistan-bound bus halts for refreshment.

Apprehending it to be a handiwork of a terrorist outfit, Shankar Bhardwaj, president of the club, has written that there are around 200 divers in his club and they help all those who fall into the Bhakra canal accidentally or jump to commit suicide.

He added that as divers dive into the canal, they get struck with bombs. He added that the India-Pak bus halts at the Floating Restaurant, Sirhind, for refreshment and these bombs could be threat to their lives as well as divers.

He has also offered help to the government in bringing out the bombs. He said being an Indian citizen it was his duty to bring the matter into the notice of the government.
