Majithia claims third death threat in a week, cites Moosewala case; slams CM Mann
He targeted CM Bhagwant Mann, questioning how a 'drunk man' could run the affairs of the state
Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said he had received a third death threat in the past seven days, claiming his situation mirrors that of singer Sidhu Moosewala, whose security was withdrawn before he was killed.
Majithia was in the city in connection with a case involving the cross-examination of AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
“The inside story is that senior police officials need permission from Delhi before providing me security, so they are waiting for directions,” Majithia claimed while speaking to The Tribune over the phone.
He also targeted Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, questioning how a “drunk man” could run the affairs of the state. “The safety of Punjab and the nation is at risk if such things happen in the Vidhan Sabha and Parliament, where leaders come in an inebriated state,” he alleged.
Majithia also welcomed the public mandate in West Bengal, stating that people wanted change and ultimately got it. “Congratulations to the winners; it is now time for the new party to deliver,” he added.
SAD leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal, who accompanied Majithia to court, said that when a political leader receives death threats, it is time for the state government to act decisively.
