Muktsar, March 14

A man along with his daughter-in-law and a few of her relatives allegedly killed his own 23-year-old daughter after having suspicion over her character at Kotli Ablu village in the Gidderbaha sub-division here on Monday night.

In his complaint to the police, deceased’s maternal uncle Gurtej Singh of Bathinda district alleged that his niece Sumandeep Kaur was killed by her father Shaminder Singh, sister-in-law Veerpal Kaur and three of her relatives Kulveer Singh, Gurdeep Singh and Baljit Singh.

Gurtej said, “Though Shaminder insisted that Sumandeep died due to swine flu and was taken to a private hospital at Bathinda, we investigated it and found it to be untrue.” A case has been registered. — TNS
