Man held in Fazilka teen murder case

The Sriganganagar police have arrested Govind Singh (23), alias Goldy, in connection with the murder of a teenager near the court premises in Fazilka. An unlicensed pistol and a magazine were seized from him.

Sahilpreet Singh (17) of Dabwala Kalan village was shot dead by some assailants near Shivpuri Chowk while he was returning after attending a court hearing on April 22. A case was registered under Sections 103, 351(2), 191(3) and 190 of the BNS and Sections 25, 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act at the Fazilka City police station.

The Sriganganagar police said a case had been registered against Goldy at the Jawahar Nagar police station. He was caught partying with some youths at Riddhi Siddhi Angan Colony located along the SSB road late last night. Those nabbed with him were released after questioning.

The police said Goldy already had five cases of theft, assault and kidnapping registered against him.
