Cops suspect personal enmity, assailants flee



Bathinda, October 21

Shots were fired in broad daylight in the Ajit road area of Bathinda. A man was killed while two others were injured in the incident. The latter were admitted to the Civil Hospital.

Shots were fired in broad daylight in the Ajit road area of Bathinda.

As per information, a group of unidentified assailants attacked three persons at a park in the area. Apart from firearms, the assailants also used sticks to beat them. The assailants fled the spot in a car. The incident is said to be the fallout of personal enmity.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Hashandeep Singh, who sustained a bullet injury on his chest and died. Buta Singh and Jaskaran Singh, who were accompanying the victim, sustained leg injuries. SP (H) Surinderpal Singh said, “As per initial scrutiny of the CCTV footage, one of the assailants was identified as a resident of Bhokhra village in Bathinda.” — TNS
