Hours before the end of campaigning in Phagwara, the BJP had to face resentment of hundreds of migrant voters who were disappointed as party’s star campaigner Manoj Tiwari did not reach the venue in Onkar Nagar today.

The migrants started raising slogans against BJP leaders for “misleading” voters. Though BJP leaders Prabhat Jha and candidate Rajesh Bagha tried to pacify the audience, much of the crowd left the venue.

Congress candidate Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal along with minister Sunder Sham Arora and former minister Joginder Singh Maan campaign for the party on the last day. Two Independent Councillors Davinder Sapra and wife Rupali Sapra along with senior SAD leader Jaspal Singh Dhesi joined the Congress.

Aam Aadmi Party spokesman Kashmir Singh Malhi and candidate Santosh Kumar Gogi also campaigned extensively to get the support of voters on the last day.
