BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh today said the country’s biggest challenge at present was to prepare the mind to face future challenges.
Addressing a symposium on “Integral Humanism: Engaging with an enduring Indian thought” at Punjab Lok Bhavan here, Santosh said, “Urbanisation and consumerism have changed the way the world moves. Capitalism grows greed and greed is the biggest gift of consumerism. It is a negative force. Striving for balance in our lives needs to be our biggest goal.”
Quoting the life and philosophy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a leading figure of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Santosh emphasised the need to balance material progress with ethical values.
Governor Gulab Chand Kataria said Deendayal Upadhyaya drew from the core essence of Indian culture, including the Vedas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, to present his philosophy in a modern context.
