Bathinda, September 12

Tension gripped Ramnagar village in the district on Wednesday after torn pages of a gutka (Sikh scripture) were found scattered in a street.

Bathinda range IGP MF Farooqui Farooqui called a press conference and claimed that they had solved the case. He said: “A 14-year-old mentally challenged girl, who stays with her maternal grandfather, Sukhdev Singh, in the village, had torn the pages. Seeing this, Sukhdev Singh burnt the gutka in a hearth, although he claimed that he cremated it as per the Sikh maryada.” — TNS
