Tragedy occurs near Badhni Kalan in Moga
A wave of mourning has swept through Bir Badhni in Moga following a double tragedy that claimed the lives of two family members returning from a wedding celebration.
The incident occurred late Sunday night as the family was returning from a ‘jaago’ ceremony, a pre-wedding ritual, in Ghal Kalan village of Moga.
According to police reports, 39-year-old Paramjit Singh, who worked as an assistant lineman in the PSPCL, was traveling back home on his motorcycle around midnight. Tragedy struck near Badhni Kalan when Paramjit’s motorcycle hit a pothole, causing him to lose control. He fell onto the road and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Moments later, other family members who were following behind in a car arrived at the scene. Upon seeing Paramjit’s body on the road, his 55-year-old aunt, Kulwinder Kaur, suffered a heart attack due to the shock. She passed away at the scene before medical help could reach her.
ASI Santokh Singh of the Badhni Kalan police station confirmed that the department had recorded the statement of Paramjit’s wife, Hardeep Kaur.
