The counsel representing Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, who is facing charges of attempted murder in the Ajnala police station attack case, on Wednesday submitted evidence in the form of two video clips before the court.

While rebutting the charges, Harpal Singh Khara and Rituraj Singh Sandhu, both defense lawyers, said Superintendent of Police Jugraj Singh —whose head was bandaged —was at the police station along with the other senior police officials. The video purportedly showed Amritpal arguing with the senior police officials, including then Amritsar rural SSP Satinder Singh.

“Had it been a life-threatening injury, he should have been in the hospital at that time,” they added, urging the court to send the videos for forensic examination to establish their veracity.

In the second video, said to be shot a day before the incident, Amritpal could be heard announcing that he would present himself for arrest in a case against him and his supporter Lovepreet Toofan. The court has fixed the next date for hearing on Thursday.
