Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh announced the launch of Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana on January 22, offering cashless medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per year for every family. Eligibility requires a Punjab Aadhaar and voter ID cards.

Pilot registration starts Tuesday at eight locations in Gharuan and Derabassi health blocks in Mohali, with 274 sites identified, including Common Service Centres (CSCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and sub-divisional and district hospitals. Existing Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries get an additional Rs 5 lakh health cover.

Around 650 private health facilities and state medical universities are empanelled, ensuring wide access to quality healthcare.
