Speaking with media in Patiala, she said: “I am in talks with the High Command, but I have one condition—I will not support the thieves. If we want to form a government, there are four or five people destroying the Congress. If they are removed, then I will think about it.”
Sidhu also alleged that her statements were distorted by the media following her meeting with the Governor. She claimed that certain individuals who own nearly 10,000 acres of land in the Shivalik range—and are now reportedly seeking to legalise this land in collaboration with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann—felt threatened by her remarks. She asserted that she stands firmly opposed to any such move.

According to Sidhu, she intended to raise these issues through Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, but before that could happen, she received an appointment to meet the Governor. She added that many felt uneasy when she brought up concerns about “a few people who own property worth crores in the Shivalik range.”
“I hoped Rahul Gandhi would address these issues and become the hero. But he was misguided by people around him, which led to delays. Until then, I got the Governor’s appointment. I wanted Rahul Gandhi to present this matter because it concerns Punjab’s future,” she said.
Speaking about the legal notice from MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sidhu dismissed it, claiming he “could not even ensure his wife’s victory” and accusing him of openly selling tickets for crores of rupees in Rajasthan. She said she has sent evidence of this to the Congress High Command.
She reiterated that she has spoken her truth: “If the High Command needs people who speak honestly at the ground level, they will understand.”
Sidhu added that the AICC supports her and claimed that 70% of Congress leaders are with her, though she declined to name them, saying she did not want anyone to face retaliatory action.
Her suspension came after she made public allegations against Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, days after her remark suggesting a “Rs 500-crore requirement to become Chief Minister” triggered turmoil within the party.
Reacting to her suspension, she said, “This notice has been issued by a state president who has no legitimacy. Many such notices are issued. Proper discussions are happening with my party, but we have one condition—we will not support thieves. If we want to form a government, remove those who are destroying the party.”
She maintained that the media exaggerated her “Rs 500 crore to become CM” comment, stressing that she never claimed anyone asked her for money.
“The question was why I was not becoming CM when all of Punjab wanted it. I replied that to become CM, you need Rs 500 crore. I also clarified that no one had ever asked us for money.”
Sidhu further said that agencies like the ED or Income Tax may investigate Navjot Singh Sidhu if they wish: “We have nothing to hide. We are open.”
After her suspension, she repeated that she remains in touch with the Delhi High Command and will not compromise on her stance: “I had support from the AICC. Seventy per cent of Congress is with me.”
She also continued her criticism of MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Punjab Congress chief Raja Warring, while clarifying her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu’s silence on the matter.
