Even as CMCapt Amarinder Singh reached the city this evening, no decision was taken on the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu. Two days ago, Sidhu had delivered his resignation at the CM’s residence at Sector 2 here through his aide Bunny Sandhu.

Media adviser to the CM Raveen Thukral said as the CMreturned this evening, he was yet to go through the resignation.

A senior leader said, “The format in which the resignation has been given matters as the letter sent to Rahul Gandhi was not the prescribed format.”

Denying reports of the CM being in a reconciliatory mood, following intervention by AICC general secretary Priyana Gandhi, sources said only time would tell what decision he takes. Punjab affairs incharge Asha Kumari denied reports of her calling a meeting at Delhi to work out a comprise. “I am in Shimla and the CM has reached Chandigarh. It is now his call,” she said.
