AAP MLA from Dakha HS Phoolka today said he would not reconsider his decision to resign from the Assembly. He submitted his resignation to Speaker Rana KP Singh, who had called him for a personal hearing today.
Phoolka said he conveyed to the Speaker that he was firm on his decision. He also said he would not attend the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha. Phoolka said he had requested the Speaker to inform about his decision to the House during the session. Rana KP Singh said he was examining the resignation and he would inform the Assembly only after a final decision was taken.
Phoolka had resigned on October 12 over the state government’s alleged failure to take action against those involved in sacrilege and police firing incidents.
With Phoolka’s resignation, AAP’s strength in the Vidhan Sabha will drop to 19, eight of whom have formed a rebel group led by Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
