Prof Srivastava assumes charge as IIM-Amritsar Director
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Amritsar, announced the transition of leadership as Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy concluded his tenure as director and passed the baton to Prof Samir Kumar Srivastava, former professor at IIM-Lucknow.
Prof Ramamoorthy had been the director of IIM-Amritsar since its inception in 2015. From the first batch of 44 students in 2015, the institute has grown to nearly 725 students in various programmes currently. His tenure saw the successful expansion of the institute, the operationalisation of the new campus, the enhancement of academic programmes and strengthening of industry partnerships.
Taking over, Prof Srivastava brings a distinguished academic and administrative background, having been associated with IIM-Lucknow. With extensive experience in academia, research, and institutional leadership, Prof Srivastava has experience in industry engagement, and research excellence. He is an undergraduate in electrical engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (now IIT-BHU) and an MBA in Finance. He received his doctorate from IIM-Lucknow in 2004. — TNS
