The Punjab Government will raise Rs 1,000 crore through market borrowing on August 11, taking its estimated net borrowings during 2026-27 to around Rs 7,500 crore.

In the latest round of borrowing, the state government plans to auction securities with a 17-year maturity to raise the funds. The money will be used for capital expenditure on plan schemes and other development projects under execution.
