Former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday asked the special investigation team (SIT) that is probing the 2015 firing incidents to examine him in Chandigarh instead of Amritsar on November 19.

The SIT had on Friday questioned former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for 50 minutes at his residence in Chandigarh.

Parkash Badal had termed his questioning and the summons to his son Sukhbir Badal political vendetta.

The SIT probing the Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura police firing incidents on sacrilege issue had last Sunday summoned film star Akshay Kumar, Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Badal on their role in the sequence of events leading to the firing.

Sukhbir has been summoned on November 19 in Amritsar and Akshay Kumar on November 21. The actor had denied arranging any meeting between the former Punjab CM and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and Dera Sacha Sauda sect head Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
