The Aam Aadmi Party today got a shot in the arm, with its rebel Jaitu MLA Master Baldev Singh coming back into the party fold.
Baldev’s entry in the party was made possible by another MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori, who represents Mehal Kalan.
AAP Punjab president Bhagwant Mann and MLA Baldev held a meeting in Raiyan village near Bhaini Sahib in Ludhiana today, following which the rebel MLA announced his decision to come back.
In a message on social media, Master Baldev Singh said he has realised that the AAP was the only outfit which thinks about the welfare of Punjab and Punjabis. “I met Bhagwant Mann today. I am impressed by his large heartedness.”
Master Baldev had rebelled against the AAP leadership along with Sukhpal Singh Khaira. He had resigned from the party and had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 General Election from Faridkot as a candidate of the Punjabi Ekta Party.
Though Master Baldev had not resigned as MLA, the AAP moved an application before Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP, seeking his disqualification, but the decision has been kept pending by the Speaker to date.
