Repeat offender caught with 3 kg opium in Moga, police seek remand

He was released on bail in a drug smuggling case two months ago

A person released on bail in a drug smuggling case two months ago was arrested again with 3 kg of opium by the Moga police’s CIA Staff. Gurdev Singh (28), from Daulewala village, had been booked in a similar case in August 2025 and was out on bail before being caught again.

During the raid, 3 kg opium was seized from Singh’s possession. Police revealed he was earlier booked on August 9, 2025, under the NDPS Act, with 265 g heroin seized. He was granted bail and allegedly resumed drug smuggling.

Singh was produced before court on March 2, and police are seeking remand to investigate the drug network’s links and the opium’s source and supply chain.
