Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Tuesday said he and his party stood vindicated after analysis of the recently held rural body elections came out in the public domain.

He said, “AAP won 70 per cent seats by a margin of 10 or less votes. This is what we have been saying from Day 1. AAP did not necessarily win all these seats. The ruling party allegedly forced election officials to declare its candidate victorious where margin was slim.”

The PCC president said claims of the ruling party notwithstanding, Punjabis had given their verdict. “Despite misuse of official machinery and intimidation of Opposition candidates, AAP has performed poorly in these polls,” said Warring, adding that Punjabis were looking forward to the Congress government in 2027.
