Senior leaders of the SAD and the BJP have put up the demands that could not be processed during the first five-year term of Narendra Modi led government. After his election to Lok Sabha, Sukhbir Badal has taken up the demands of his constituency for first time.

Most of the proposals were initially taken up by former MP Sunil Jakhar at his meetings with the then Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, some were okayed, but work could not be started.

BJP legislator Arun Narang along with Ferozepur MP Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union Minister Som Parkash met Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. The deputation recalled that Rs 5.58 crore was provided in the Rail Budget-2015 to construct railway under bridge in Abohar, but work not started even after floating tenders.

Narang said Goyal had assured to take up the issues with senior officers soon.
