Jalandhar, October 18
The SGPC member and SAD leader Paramjit S Raipur is likely to join the Congress at Phagwara on Friday.
Raipur was annoyed with the party for ignoring his complaints against ex-SAD MLA Sarabjit Makkar over property disputes.
He had been eyeing ticket to Jalandhar Cantonment seat in 2017 Assembly elections, which the party gave to Makkar, much to his annoyance.
He was also made Jalandhar Improvement Trust Chairman in the last fortnight on previous SAD-BJP tenure for appeasement.
He is the paternal uncle of UK MP Tanmanjeet Dhesi and has heavily funded the SAD elections in the past.
