Amritsar, September 29
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has declared to move a privilege motion against the state government for the agrarian crisis in the state.
SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia asked Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to abrogate the state Agriculture Produce Market Committee Act and declare the entire state as a principal market area.
“If Capt Amarinder doesn’t pay heed to our demand, which is in fact the demand of farmers, the SAD will gherao his residence,” said Majithia. He lashed out at the CM for “playing a friendly match” with those in the Centre to “fool and mislead” farmers. He never did anything concrete to thwart the Acts, the SAD leader said. — TNS
