Sangrur Trust members boycott meeting, allege irregularities

Sangrur, September 23

Alleging the use of inferior quality material in developmental works, all three Congress members of the Sangrur Improvement Trust boycotted a meeting on Thursday. However, Trust Chairman Naresh Gaba passed the resolutions in the absence of members, who have announced to challenge the holding of meeting.

Members have also written to senior authorities for a high-level inquiry into the developmental works. Trust members Santosh Kumari, Parmanand and Lachman Dass Lalka have alleged Trust employees were not showing them files of the ongoing work, nor they were called to pass the estimates of proposed ones.

“The officers are not sharing any information with us. On Thursday, we boycotted the meeting, but the Chairman passed the agenda,” said Kumari. Denying the allegations, Gaba said they had been releasing the payment only after the audit of works by the third party. — TNS
