The SGPC has extended an invitation to the Pakistan Prime Minister, Pakistan Punjab Governor and Chief Minister, Evacuee Board Chairperson and PSGPC president to take part in the international nagar kirtan, dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, that has been scheduled to commence from Nankana Sahib on July 25.
Besides this, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has been given a formal invitation to receive the nagar kirtan at Attari.
To discuss the preparations of this first-ever international nagar kirtan, a meeting was also conducted by SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal with officials.
Longowal said it was decided during the meeting to invite Pakistan dignitaries and the Punjab Chief Minister. “We have invited Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Punjab Chief Minister Usman Ahmad Khan, Governor Chawdhary Mohammad Sarvar, Evacuee Property Trust Board Chairman Dr Aamir Ahmad and PSGPC president Tara Singh formally to be part of this grand nagar kirtan.”
A group of 550 devotees will be part of a jatha that would leave for Nankana Sahib to start the nagar kirtan.
