Ropar, June 22

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Kirpal Singh Badungar has condemned the tossing of turban of Aam Adami Party MLA Pirmal Singh in the Punjab Assembly.

Badungar said a meeting of the SGPC executive committee had been called to discuss the issue on June 26.

The turban of Pirmal Singh was tossed on Thursday when the marshals were removing the opposition MLAs from the Assembly on the orders of Speaker Rana KP Singh.

The SGPC chief, who was here to inspect the ongoing projects, alleged that the Congress always remained anti-Sikh and the incident proved this.

He said he would meet Governor VP Singh Badnore in the afternoon over an SGPC issue and would also take up the turban issue.

Badungar said the SGPC executive committee would discuss the issue in its meeting scheduled for June 26 at the Bhatha Sahib gurdwara in Ropar.
