The Punjab Police faced yet another embarrassment in the singer Sidhu Moosewala killing case with the Delhi Police succeeding in arresting the main shooters allegedly responsible for the killing.

The state police had earned much fame earlier after it had successfully busted international network behind the targeted killings. Known for their investigative skills and expertise in tracing criminals, the state police had successfully trapped and liquidated gangsters like Jaipal Bhullar in far off West Bengal besides nabbing others in Rajasthan.

However, the same police failed to prevent Moosewala’s killing even though it seems to have had some intel input on the likely attack on him. Later, the Delhi Police were able to identify the shooters and conspirators in the case while the Punjab Police could arrest some as a follow-up action only.

The police claimed it had identified all four shooters, but two of those were already named in the list of eight released by the Delhi Police.

The embarrassment was felt much today with the Delhi Police arresting the main shooter Priyawarat. The state police were also on his trail.

In its briefing to the media, the Delhi Police clearly said the arrests were its sole operation. Interestingly, the shooters belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who is in the custody of the Punjab Police for more than a week now.

The Punjab Police had earlier set up a special unit called the Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) that pursued the gangsters. The Bhagwant Mann government formed an Anti-Gangster Task Force after assuming power. However, the results turned out to be different.

Video posted on gangster’s account

Bathinda: A video has surfaced on the social media account reportedly used by jailed gangster Saraj Sandhu, alias Mintoo, claiming that police would not be able to catch the singer’s assailants. Mintoo is a co-accused in the singer's murder case.
