Sidhu Moosewala killing: Sersa, Sachin Bhiwani sent to judicial custody

Ankit Sersa and Sachin Bhiwani, two main accused in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case, were sent to the judicial remand on Thursday.

While Sersa is one of the six sharpshooters in the high-profile murder case, Bhiwani is accused of harbouring the shooters. Both were brought to the local court amid tight security before being medically examined at the Civil Hospital here.

Earlier, the local court had extended the police remand of both accused for five days on July 23. Prior to that also, the duo remained in the police custody for eight days after they were brought from Delhi on July 15 on a transit remand. Both were kept at CIA staff police station in Mansa, where they were being interrogated by the police.

Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by at six shooters at Jawahar Ke village in Mansa district on May 29. The special cell of the Delhi Police had arrested Ankit and Sachin from the Kashmiri Gate area in Delhi on July 4.

• A cellphone can also be seen lying beside singer’s father, displaying late singer’s photo to help the artist make the sketch
• Singer’s mother, Charan Kaur, too, got her son’s name inked on her forearm
