Amritsar, August 29
Former Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu continues to stay away from limelight since he relinquished his portfolio officially. Today, he attended two events in his constituency but maintained distance from media.
The lawmaker from the Amritsar East constituency inaugurated the Rs 5.45-crore project of desilting the stormwater drain. He was surrounded by area councillors and officials only.
Councillor of Ward No. 32 Rajesh Madaan said the project would cater to a number of wards, including the Focal Point and Chattiwind.
When asked about Sidhu’s next course of action, Madaan said at present he had been focusing solely on the pending projects in his constituency.
On another occasion, Sidhu had visited a government girls school at Verka. Here also, he had refrained from responding to media queries.
This was Sidhu’s second public appearance after he officially submitted resignation on July 15 to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. Earlier, on August 9, he had kick-started a project of installation of street lights in his constituency.
