Sriganganagar man held for sexually abusing minor

The police have arrested a 23-year-old youth for sexually abusing and impregnating a minor girl.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST) Vishnu Khatri, who is investigating the case, said Sonu of Majhiwala, a border village in Sriganganagar, had been arrested. The process of recording the statement of the minor in a court was underway while her medical checkup had been done. She is two-month pregnant.

The police said the victim lived with her mother in a rented house. The accused lived with his mother in the other part of the same house. The mothers of both work in the same government institution.

On the statement given by the mother of the victim, a case was registered against Sonu last Friday.

The police have claimed that Sonu had accepted that he had physical relations with the victim twice.
